CONDUCT FOR CONGRESS PARTICIPANTS FOR A RESPECTFUL, INCLUSIVE, AND PROFESSIONAL CONGRESS ATMOSPHERE<\/h4>\n

\u00a01. Purpose<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The EABCT 2027 congress is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere for all participants\u2014including attendees, speakers, volunteers, staff, exhibitors, and sponsors. This Code of Conduct outlines expected behaviors and sets out unacceptable conduct to ensure a respectful and harassment free experience for everyone.<\/p>\n

2. Expected Behavior<\/h4>\n

All participants should:<\/p>\n

  • Treat others with respect, kindness, and consideration, valuing diverse viewpoints and experiences.<\/li>\n
  • Communicate openly and constructively, accommodating different perspectives.<\/li>\n
  • Respect privacy \u2014 seek consent before photographing, recording, or sharing others\u2019 images or information.<\/li>\n
  • Follow all event-related policies and local venue regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3. Unacceptable Behavior<\/h4>\n

      The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:<\/p>\n

      • Harassment, bullying or discrimination based on gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, age, body size or other protected characteristics.<\/li>\n
      • Unwanted attention or advances\u2014physical, verbal, or sexual\u2014that create discomfort, including inappropriate contact or touching.<\/li>\n
      • Disruptive behavior that interferes with sessions, workshops, or networking; this includes inappropriate interruptions or sustained distraction.<\/li>\n
      • Offensive conduct or language, including the display or communication of discriminatory or explicit content.<\/li>\n
      • Retaliation against individuals who report violations or support those who do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          4. Reporting Violations<\/h4>\n

          If you experience or witness a violation:<\/p>\n

          • Contact designated conference staff immediately\u2014at the event, look for team members or volunteers with identifying badges or lanyards.<\/li>\n
          • Reports may also be made via email or phone (details to be provided on the conference website, app, or informational materials).<\/li>\n
          • All reports will be treated confidentially and addressed promptly, with protection against retaliation emphasized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            5. Consequences of Violation<\/h4>\n

            Steps organizers may take:<\/p>\n

              \n
            • Issue verbal or written warnings.<\/li>\n
            • Require the participant to cease offending behaviour immediately.<\/li>\n
            • Expel the individual from the event (possibly without refund).<\/li>\n
            • Deny future participation in organizing partner conferences or sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Serious or repeated misconduct may also be escalated to the individual\u2019s employer, institution, or relevant authorities if necessary.<\/p>\n

              6. Attribution & Acknowledgement<\/h4>\n

              By attending the event, all participants agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Support from registered participants\u2014volunteers, speakers, and sponsors\u2014is essential to maintaining a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone.<\/p>\n

              7. Adaptation Tips<\/strong><\/h4>\n

              • Include clear contact information for the reporting team, ideally with at least two designated individuals from different institutions or roles.<\/li>\n
